Let's Get Personal: The Story Behind SeeStyleRun

I want to officially welcome you all to SeeStyleRun!

It's been a long time coming.... for the past 3 years I have struggled to start my blog.  Let me start from the beginning  - I promise I wont make this too long.

Three years ago I graduated from Rutgers University (GO SCARLET KNIGHTS!). Right after graduating I started a management program.  Long story short - I lost myself in my job.  I stopped going to the gym, I stopped going out, I stopped going to church.  I pretty much stopped taking care of myself just to work 60-70 hours a week.  And because I neglected my health, I gained 40 LBs over those 3 years. I didn't even notice until I quit my job this past June.

Quitting my job, although hard on the pocket, was the best thing I could ever do for myself mentally, physically and spiritually.  I took time off to travel, see family and get some rest.  The problem came when I was struggling to get dressed everyday.  I would pull clothes out I haven't worn in a long time, try it on and when i realized it was too tight I'd hang it up again.

The turning point - the time I knew to start my blog - was when I was in Barcelona with my bestfriend Maia of The Petite Principle.   I was taking some photographs for her blog when I jokingly said "I should take some pictures and start mine huh?" and she goes "sure! lets do it!" - with those pictures, SeeStyleRun was born.

It was an idea that I had been wrestling with for a while, but I just couldn't find the time with all the hours I was spending at work, and when I wasn't working I was sleeping so I could have energy to go back.  But now I had time! So I came home and with her help set everything up.  Not the most exciting story, but this is how I got here.

Weight gain happens.  Getting sucked into work happens.  Losing yourself happens.

My hope is to show that you can still dress well when you're feeling fluffier than normal and to inspire others and myself to be the best version of ourselves.

This was a lot longer that I expected (whoops).

Have a blessed weekend everyone!
